HIS MAJESTY, THE AMERICAN
Isn’t he a cutie? This huggable Teddy Bear is one of many new additions to the Douglas Fairbanks Museum’s online gift shop, and he’s just waiting for you to take him home! Give him to someone you love on Valentine’s day!
Teddy Bear’s first achieved national popularity in the early 1900s, and were named “Teddy’s” after President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt. “T.R.” was Fairbanks’ hero as a young man, and many of his onscreen characters paid homage to Teddy Roosevelt, such as 1919’s “His Majesty, The American” (seen on the bear’s t-shirt above).
What could be more American than a Teddy Bear swathed in red, white and blue? And with Douglas Fairbanks clowning around in one of his early classic comedies, it’s sure to make someone smile from ear to ear!
Come see “Teddy” in our new online gift shop, where you’ll find every kind of unique gift for the Fairbanks fan in your life: posters, t-shirts, coffee mugs, wall clocks, hats, baby and children’s apparel, office decor, housewares, postage stamps, collectibles and Hollywood memorabilia, even gifts for your pet!
And stay tuned for more announcements here of new product arrivals. We’re adding more items every day!
